PROPOSAL

It all happened on March 14, 2010. We went to the beach to grill some dinner up. We've been doing this for the last few weeks as the weather outside was beautiful! (Except we'd been going to the park to grill.) Matt grilled up some chicken, corn, and beans. I brought along some stuff to make s'mores. YUMMY!
After we cleaned up and Matt went back to the car to return the stuff, we headed down by the water. We were sitting on one blanket and I was snuggled under another. As the sun was setting to the west, I decided it was time to go. I got up and turned around and saw Matt on one knee. When he asked me to marry him, I immediately said "Of Course!", followed by a "Yes!"
The question I get asked most often is "Were there people around you?" And the answer is to that is...not really. We're very quiet people. We don't like attention drawn to us. We keep it super simple. There were a few ladies to our right and a few guys to our left. They were far enough in the distance to where we could see them, but they weren't paying any attention to what was going on.
Below is a picture of the ring. It was taken the following week while vising my brother in Melbourne Beach.
